    Default Maxi

You came to the rescue centre 2 weeks ago, Maxi boy, and were so strong and brave. Your owners had neglected you and you were in a terrible state- your eyes were infected, all of your teeth had to come out, and you were as skinny as a rake. Despite all of this, you were the friendliest bunny I'd ever met- you adored a cuddle and a nose rub, and even fell asleep on my knee last week

You were doing so well, and we tried so hard to save you. Your organs packed in, and you continued to lose weight. In the end, we made a collective decision to help you to the bridge- it wasn't fair to keep you going when you looked so unhappy and had lost that sociability that you had had before.

I hope you know that in those last two weeks, you were loved by us all, Maxi. You will always be remembered by all of us at the SAA. Sleep well, beautiful boy- I hope there's lots of babyfood for you over the bridge, I know how you loved to lap it up.

    Sweet dreams xXx

Thank you both! I'm certain he knew we all loved him in the end He was so trusting of humans, despite everything- it was so heartbreaking to see how much he thrived off a bit of attention, really made me wonder how much human contact he'd had before

Here he was yesterday morning, just before he was helped over the rainbow:

He was so frail We are planting an apple tree in his memory- it can grow up to be big and strong, just like he was in his final weeks.

We all love you so much little man xXx

I gave Flix and Gaga the biggest cuddle last night- I'm so thankful to have two happy, healthy bunnies. Life is so precious

    Thank you!

We are all so sad that he never had a stable, loving home but are so happy that we took him in and showed him what love was, even if it was only for a couple of weeks. I have a feeling that he would have died painfully and alone if he'd not been brought to us. Instead, he died peacefully, with people around him, telling him how special he was. Poor little guy
